前段时间，一房客搬走了，房子封闭式院子里草太高，需要清理，我们找了一位老墨新园丁。这房子带部分家具，当时室内在油漆，许多家具放在院子里，园丁来时，我们正用中文小声说要不要将家具搬到室内去。园丁听后在旁边说了句中文，不用担心，我不会偷你们院子里的东西的。这让我们很惊讶，原来这老莫在中国人餐馆打过几年工，天天跟中国人混在一起，中文也学溜了。家具我们没搬到室内，可园丁干完活后还是少了两件家具!
去年八月, 我们在十字路口的一多单位住宅上发生了一起交通事故，事故车把我们的一排木栏杆撞飞了(见图)，肇事老墨车在路口Stop 处上主道时，撞上主道上行驶的车，主道车被撞冲上我们房地上木栏杆，并翻了个，开车的70岁白人老太只是一手指断了，其他没事，同车十几岁孙女也豪发未损。栏杆坏了，我们去索赔，过程还有点曲折，先是要了警察报告，再找双方的保险公司，白人老太保险公司说从警察报告可以看出完全是对方的责任。于是又找老墨车保险公司，老墨保险公司说没有这个人的保险，这让我们干着急，后来发现是警察报告将两人的车信息写反了。老墨一开始还说不是她的责任，是对方开得太快，随后警察找到对面住家录像，过程一清二楚，这样老墨保险公司才答应赔偿。我们找了个有执照的建商估价，修理木栏杆费$5000，报给老墨保险公司，来来去去，推来推去，老墨保险公司大半年也没有准确答复，我们只好自己把栏杆先修好。半个多月前老墨的保险公司总算联系我们，说只能赔我们$3000，因为老墨车的财产保险只有1万，这一万要在白人老太，我们隔壁和我们之间按比例分。想想如果走自己的房屋保险，去掉自付，拿到的还会少$500，3千就3千吧，我们马上就签了release 表。
冠状肺炎今年3月中以来对美国经济的冲击前所未有，美国政府为了解救企业，除推出了PPP (payment protection program) 贷款，联邦小企业局也推出了EIDL(economic injury disaster loan)贷款，专门用来帮助500人以下的小企业渡过难关。自雇者包括做出租房生意的，拿1099表的都可以申请。4月初我们按照新闻报道的介绍，上网填了表，我们除了自己的主生意外，出租生意也填了一张表。我们对出租生意的EIDL能否申请成不抱希望，结果5月初，还真收到了头款，帐上显示为 SBAD Treas 310 Misc pay，这个是grant, 不用还，但最多到1万。真正的EIDL贷款额度是你生意的2.5个月开销，利息3.75%或2.75%(非盈利公司)，头一年不用付利息，30年还清，提前付清也没有罚款。小企业局的EIDL已外包给外面公司在审批处理，这外包公司前几天说，因为申请的个人和企业太多，他们按目前速度处理完这些申请要四年九个月，看来要拿到这笔贷款不知是猴年马月了，远水解不了近渴，小企业主包括地主们在疫中还是自求多福吧。

Received the shoe about 2 months after it was ordered which seems to be pretty normal. The shoes came soaking wet in a bag of brown water. I sat them out in the sun to dry and scrubbed them as best as I could. My daughter has worn them and they seem ok, but they do have a smell from being wet for who knows how long. I messaged the seller and got a half refund, which was fine. I suggest the seller to package the shoes a little better to ensure they come in the best possible condition after being in shipment for as long as they are.
